Inspired by Janette Oke’s bestselling book series about the Canadian West, “When Calls the Heart” follows the story of a schoolteacher and widowed mother, Elizabeth Thornton in the quaint town of Hope Valley. With the help and guidance of the townspeople and her friends, she adjusts to the ever-changing times and the people that enter her life. Embracing love again after the death of her husband and taking care of her son, Elizabeth continues to teach the children of Hope Valley all while trying to navigate the challenges in her life.
Season 13 begins with Elizabeth, Little Jack, Nathan and Allie returning home, now that he can receive the treatment he needs there. Then, Hope Valley comes together in the wake of a devastating wildfire. The townsfolk must come to terms with the consequences of the fire and each face their own challenges.
For Nathan and Elizabeth, their relationship is tested in new ways, ultimately making them stronger than ever leading to new heights.
