Eligen Conserman's family lived hand to mouth and struggled to pay for an adequate education for their daughter. The social stigma of living in poverty had profound affects on Eligen. But, through the support of the staff at a small church working in partnership with Compassion, Eligen's story changed. Much of the transformation was related to her confidence as a young girl.
As is typical for most Philippino familes living in poverty, Eligen's education was a ticket to a new life filled with great opportunities. Hey story is no longer about poverty, but about making a difference in the lives of others.
